Brand : Worm Factory | Rate : | Price : $99.95
Post Date : Oct 30, 2011 21:27:19 | Usually ships in 24 hours

Worm composting is an incredibly efficient way to convert kitchen scraps, junk mail and cardboard into nutrient-rich compost for your garden. Master gardeners agree that compost produced by worms will produce the best results and help your plants thrive. The Worm Factory's unique stackable, multi-tray design makes it the most efficient worm bin composter around. Worms begin eating waste in the lowest tray, and then migrate upward as food sources in that tray are exhausted. By allowing worms to migrate upward, the worms separate themselves from the finished compost that is ready for the garden. Besides the worm castings that are produced through this process, the Worm Factory also produces a second type of compost. As waste is broken down, moisture filters through your Worm Factory, taking nutrient-rich particles with it. This liquid fertilizer, know as leachate is gathered in the special collection tray of the Worm Factory and can easily be drained from the spigot. Simply add a handful of worms and your organic waste to the bottom tray. The worms will start processing the food. Once the bottom tray is filled add another tray. The worms migrate upward to the newest food source leaving the bottom tray full of nutrient rich compost. As waste is broken down, moisture filters through the system taking nutrient-rich particles with it. You can drain organic liquid fertilizer right from the spigot. It's compact square design gives the Worm Factory the smallest footprint of all worm composters. The Worm Factory's tray stacking system allows it to hold the largest capacity of compost in the smallest amount of space, making it the perfect composter for anyone with space limitations. The Worm Factory is simple to operate. When full, each tray weighs only 12.5 pounds making lifting and arranging trays effortless. The included 16-page instruction manual makes setup fast and easy and gives tips on how to best manage your Worm Factory composter year-round.

Brand : Can O Worms | Rate : | Price : $59.99
Post Date : Sep 16, 2011 05:40:46 | Usually ships in 1-2 business days

The Can O Worms vermicomposting unit is an easy way to turn kitchen scraps and other organic materials into rich, organic worm castings. By using a multi-level system, this composter encourages the worms inside to keep moving, eating and producing. Included in the Can O Worms unit are 3 round, large capacity working trays where the worms eat the food, a round, fly-proof, ventilated lid, a ventilated collector tray with worm mound, a compost tea tap, legs, coir brick and instruction booklet. Made from 100-Percent recycled black plastic, the Can O Worms makes the worms feel like they are in the dark depths of the Earth. With two working trays, you can continuously add food scraps to the bin, cycling the trays on top. Because the Can O Worms stands off the ground on legs, removing the worm tea from the tap is easier than ever. The trays include a molded mound that encourages worms to move from the collector trays to the working trays. A unique flow through ventilation improves performance and prevents collected tea from turning anaerobic. The included coir brick creates a cool, earthy home for the worms, so you can get started on composting as soon as you get it assembled.

  • Includes 2 Large worm trays - endless supply of worm castings for your plants and garden
  • Indoor or outdoor use - keep in your garage, basement, or covered back porch
  • Ventilated fly proof lid
  • 100-Percent recycled plastic - no virgin plastic used

Building a compost - Secrets Inside

!±8± Building a compost - Secrets Inside

The construction of a compost is not very difficult. The main thing is that you need is patience. It did not happen overnight, but worth the wait.

There are glasses that are used to accelerate the process. Even the best glass takes about 3-4 weeks.

Just pick a unused portion of the field, perhaps for the eyes. A compost heap produces no odor when it is done properly. It can be a bit 'ugly though. One time the ad will be picked up, it's time to startComposting. Start with a nice layer of sticks or some type of educational material. This is to provide proper ventilation of the bottom of the stack.

The next layer of green matter to start. There's really no good reason, with the green material you can just as easily with a mass start brown, but it is going to change to start classes. The green matter are the elements of your kitchen, vegetables, fruit peels, coffee grounds and filters, nut shells. Almost all food wasteto qualify.

Matter Brown are the elements that will come from outside. Sawdust, leaves, wood chips, paper products (simple black and white printing), and sticks around in the yard. After these two layers adds another layer of ventilation. Sticks, hay, straw or any other thing, of course, you can imagine.

Materials were added after providing a little 'damp on the stack. But not too much to think of a damp sponge. You can use a handful of dirt every once in a while 'for dirt containing microbes asthat will help to kick the composting process.

Then after you create a compost pile, you have to be patient. It is necessary to spread compost on your plants rich in no time.

Plastic storage container Compost Bin

!±8± Plastic storage container Compost Bin

A plastic container compost is a good option for those who do not have much space for a bunch of great size or simply do not want a big pile. As a bonus they are also inexpensive, small and can be positioned in various positions.

Plastic storage containers Biotonne

1 Take the trash. Get a bin that is at least 18 liters, all younger and will not work. In addition, there is a small factor, there really need more as I go.

TheirYou can get an old used a flea market, you buy one, you can get one from a friend or family member, is not so important.

2 Drill a few holes on the sides. Compost needs a lot of air, otherwise receives stinks and turns into a paste, it will eventually break, even if it is a foul-smelling slime, but I recommend just giving them some air circulation.

The size of the holes is not so important to go, the smallest of holes in your vents, and moreHoles to reach a point where they are covered with hardware cloth to keep the compost in must and in mice. Aim for the holes that would be enough to bring a valuable animal in the trash if you do not use it for compost.

3 Choose a location. This depends on the circumstances, can be placed directly in front of the kitchen for convenience, or a little 'everywhere, it is easy to reach and out of your way.

Add 4 compostable materials. Above all, is what is thrown into a compost heap in the workthe bin, just cut little things, to break down more quickly.

5 Air out the garbage. At least once a day, do give'm shake well, things that move in order to maintain enough air to circulate.

With the help of a plastic container of organic waste is one of many ways to get good compost for your garden or plants, even indoors.
